Reforestation Impact Stories
Planting trees is hard, but deeply rewarding work. Sach Struggle for Change, we have the wonderful opportunity to work on inspirational projects that will hopefully leave a positive mark on you. Come back soon for our most recent highlights!

Monarch Butterfly Habitat
Monarch butterfly populations have been dwindling over time due to the loss of milkweed and nectar plants, deforestation and degradation of their overwintering grounds in California and Mexico, pesticide use, and climate change impacts like out-of-season storms, severe temperature drops and heavy rainfall. All of these factors have combined to create a sharp decline, particularly in the past 20 years.
Fruit Trees Change Lives
Much of our work in India is focused on planting fruit trees. Our amazing partners are working with local communities across 12 Indian states to plant fruit trees to fight hunger, improve local economies, and combat climate change. Your support will help us make a huge difference. Each fruit tree we plant will equate to at least $10 USD in food and nutrition each year, with a cumulative value of 5 million dollars garnered over the next 50-60 years.

Forest Fire Restoration
California’s forests need active management in order to improve their health, reduce the risk of major wildfires and pest infestations, and protect this beautiful natural playground for future generations. Our amazing reforestation partners work with several state and federal forestry assistance programs as well as private landowners, aiming to improve the health and productivity of forest lands.

FOREST NOTE: EPISODE 1
Tanzania provides a peek behind the scenes of a recent site visit to one of our Terrafund for AFR100 projects. One Tree Planted Forestry Specialist Ross Bernet and Africa Project Managers Teresa Muthoni & Grace Buruka visit Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park, a haven for biodiversity that happens to be located near some of our Tanzania project sites.

FOREST NOTE: EPISODE 2
Uganda provides a peek behind the scenes of a recent site visit to one of our Terrafund for AFR100 projects in Uganda. One Tree Planted Forestry Specialist Ross Bernet shows Africa Project Manager Teresa Muthoni how to operate a drone, an important tool for monitoring reforestation projects. Drones can create a 360 panorama, which is really powerful for helping understand the context and extent of an entire planting site. This is very valuable for monitoring and planning.

FOREST NOTE: EPISODE 3
Uganda finds us in a markedly different setting from the previous episode: at a One Tree Planted-led networking and learning session with nine of our reforestation partners in Uganda. These sessions provide an important opportunity for our reforestation partners to connect in person and share their successes and their challenges with each other. They also provide key insights for our Project Managers.

FOREST NOTE: EPISODE 4
Conserving Biodiversity Through Reforestation in Uganda provides a peek behind the scenes of a recent site visit to one of our Terrafund for AFR100 projects. One Tree Planted Africa Project Managers Grace Buruka & Teresa Muthoni, and Forestry Specialist Ross Bernet visit with on the ground partner Eco Trust, a Uganda-based conservation trust. This visit finds us in Uganda’s Masindi District, in an area of the Northern Albertine Rift that historically was a large block of forest but has become fragmented over time.

FOREST NOTE: EPISODE 5
Tanzania provides a peek behind the scenes of a recent site visit to one of our Terrafund for AFR100 projects.
